  • Increases selling and etc

When SEO will be marked as spam?

The moment when you applied it too excessively Not talking about SEO Spam). Some examples of over-optimization and the results they can bring into your site are mentioned below one by one.

1. Keywords:

We can divide this into two parts. One is a) Target Keyword and another is b) Keyword Density.

a) Target Keyword:

Every site has some target keywords for which keywords that site wants to be ranked. But a site shouldn’t go for only one for just ten to twenty keywords. A site should have a huge number of organic keywords that are correlated to each other and that is related to that site’s main focused keyword(s). When one site has the same keywords in every page it makes, it may give that site a penalty.

So what to do now? You should focus on too many keywords that are correlated with each other. For example, we have too many keywords. Our site is mainly about Digital Marketing and as SEO is a huge part of Digital Marketing, we choose it as our topic too. We publish articles about Google as well. All are correlated. And what organic keywords we have? We have so many organic keywords. Such as:

  • Google Penalty Checker
  • SERPs Rank Checker
  • Top 10 Digital Marketing Strategies.
  • Are subdomains bad for Search Engine Optimization?
  • Do Subdomains Hurt Search Engine Optimization?
  • What is Subdomain?
  • Google AdWords
  • “Ubbersuggest”
  • “Neil Patel”
  • “Copywritely”
  • How to get Edu backlinks?
  • .pt WhoIs
  • How to remove negative Google search results and too many

So focus on too many correlated keywords.

b) Keyword Density:

By definition, density means a substance’s mass per unit volume. In content it means almost the same. Here keyword density is measured in keyword per hundred words of content. You need to or have to repeat keywords to do a good on-page search engine optimization. But there is a limit to everything. If you repeat the keyword again and again, Google will mark you as spam. So keep this in mind. Check your keyword density before publishing articles.

2. Title of an Article:

Suppose you are exploring for keywords and find that there is a keyword “Coursera Digital Marketing” with great potential. And you just started to write an article using this keyword in the title tag. Okay, skip everything, you just think that “Is Coursera Digital Marketing really a natural word?” The answer is no, it is not. User used to search their queries in a short form. This keyword is one of those. You need to use a title with a natural keyword. Not using unnatural keywords like this.

Now, what can be your title for this article. You can use
  1. Best 5 Digital Marketing Courses on Coursera.
  2. Learn Digital Marketing via Coursera
  3. Free Coursera Courses on Digital Marketing

3. Meta Description:

The meta description is what you see right below the title of a content in search results. Nowadays it is not a factor of Google Ranking Factors. But it is still important because the user sees this data in the search result and it can lead or distract the user. If your meta description is too fascinating, the user may click on that.

What would I need to remember while writing a Meta Description?

  • Meta Description shouldn’t cross 150 characters. It can be between 150 to 160. But shouldn’t cross more. If cross, then Google will cut the rest part or make one in order to show the user.
  • It shouldn’t be too short as well.
  • Meta description should have the keyword of your post. But not so often.

Then what is over-optimization here? Using too many keywords or repeating keywords too often may mark as over-optimization. Remember, it never put an impact on the search ranking, but it is important because the user sees it before clicking to content.

4. URL:

URL is a mandatory part of any content and building URL in an impressive way is one of the best SEO practices. But here also can be over-optimized. You should keep in mind some points while building a URL. Those are:
  • It should have a main focused keyword once.
  • Shouldn’t long
  • Should repeat one word twice without need.
  • Shouldn’t use many keywords.
  • A hyphen should be used in place of space. Never use underscores.

5. Backlink Density:

SO far you know that Backlink is very much important as a ranking factor, not only for Google but also Bing, Yahoo and others. But too many backlinks can harm a site if that site has not yet gain trustworthiness from the search engines (Brands are out of this).
“How many backlinks should be counted as too many?”
Ans cannot be given with a 100% surety. But it can be said that 30 backlinks per day are huge for a non-brand site. Again, the quality of the content that backlinked your site or article is also important. If you can backlink from bad or low-quality content, it may hamper your ranking. Receiving backlinks from only a backlink giving site is also so much harmful. Keep all this in mind.

Here we are going to conclude this article. Before concluding, we are mentioning the summery.
  1. SEO is not spam. SEO is a piece of very important knowledge to know and practice.
  2. Over Optimization is always bad. Never try to over-optimize your content.
